May update

Sometimes i feel like I live in the middle of nowhere.  We live in a small, overcrowded city, and there is absolutely nothing around.  Last week I went to Joann's, Hobby Lobby, the tiny hole in the wall quilt shop searching for quilting stencils.  The ones I own,I bought from Hobby Lobby and Jo Ann's, just in different states.  They were priced no more than $4, but I always bought them on sale.  Jo Ann's had a  few, but they started at $9 for a 1" wide basic pattern. The same one was on the JoAnn's website on sale for $3.  They also only had the one stencil available.  YIKES!  The quilt shop is very tiny.  They didn't have any stencils, but I did buy a yard of fabric and a quilt pattern. I didn't need either, but it feels awkward walking into a tiny 10'x12' shop, and not purchase anything.  Hobby Lobby was just as depressing.   I came home and found a few online sites with a plethora of stencils.  I ended up purchasing 8 stencils from one shop.  The prices ranged from $1.50-3.50 for the ones I was interested in.  The one that cost $1.50 was the exact one I saw for $9.  I needed these stencils to finish my Celtic Solstice quilt.  I tried to free hand designs, and failed miserably, so these were a necessity.

This past week, I decided to start quilting the back of my 16 patch star quilt, from MSQC.  Everything was going great until I made a wrong cut.  I got sidetracked with the dog and her need to go outside that I made the wrong cut after measuring it 3 times.  It will be fine.  I'll just have to purchase another yard of backing fabric, but it will be fine!

My mystery quilt is down to the borders.  Making great progress there.

The Beast quilt, is on the frame...untouched.

However, I am right on track with my reading goal.  I have read 6 out of 12 books.  And have my 7th and 8th book ready to go.  At Least i will get one resolution completed!
