2016 ended on arough note...the death of a family member, on my birthday, just before Christmas. I spent Christmas Eve at the funeral home making arrangements with brother. The whole Christmas season was just a blur. I used Bonnie's mystery quilt, En Provence, as a bit of therapy. I was just taking life a bit at a time. I also, focused on our soon to be new family member, a golden retriever. There are good days, and bad days. But we just deal with them. I wouldn't call the entire year horrible over a handful of bad days.
This year, I have decided that I am going to learn how to free motion quilt on my domestic machine. I have successfully quilted 2 quilts on the machine, but nothing spectacular. Along with free motion quilting,I plan to:
- Read 12 books (my yearly goal on Goodreads). I made that goal last year, and barely made it. I struggled to get into the last book, until the 3rd part. That book took me 4 months. Once I finished, I decided I have to reread it, because the last part was spectacular and I felt like I missed some details. Hopefully the next time won't take me 4 months to read.
- I will hand quilt, The Beast, and finish it. (Hahaha!!)
- I will finish Hand quilting Celtic Solstice. Baseball is starting up again, so this may be possible.
- I will machine quilt my 4 patch stars quilt.
- I will assemble my En Provence quilt. So,this one is doable.
