Getting a puppy is like having a newborn. The first couple months I was exhausted. Exhausted doesn't even being in the explain it. The third month, we are finally hitting a stride, in day to day activities. She finally sleeps all night, which means, I'm no longer functioning like a zombie. One major obstacle that still remains is quilting. I cannot sit down at the sewing machine for more than 5 minutes without the puppy finding me and chewing the cord. When I see her coming I turn my machine off and putting the cords up. I usually end being grouchy, stressed and feeling like I just ran a marathon.
With all my sewing woes, I was voluntold to make a flag for a weekend camp out. It was Star Wars theme. I know nothing about Star Wars. I looked up The First Order, and went from there. I then spent 2 days designing the logo on my Cricut. It was a huge pain in the rear end. I finally got it done and the words. The easy part was stitching it down on Day 4. The kids loved it, and I am quite proud of it.
Since the camp out was for just the scout and 1 parent, I stayed home. I had this wild idea that I would get so much quilting done. I have also been looking at my mystery quilt thinking it is never going to be done. I have had no time to sew, and each time I do, I have to clean the table from everybody's stuff. Saturday afternoon, I decided to square up some pieces, and kit the blocks up. By dinner time, I was excited to have finished. The quilt already seems manageable. Sunday, I sewed the one block I had laying out for weeks. In the midst of sewing, I realized that I forgot this one unit. I don't even have enough units for all 6 blocks, so i will have to make more. Such is life. Tomorrow, I'll get right back to cutting.
