One thing I miss the most about living in Utah is the night sky. I used to sit in the backyard and hand quilt whichever quilt I was working on, while watching the sun set. Sunsets in the west are the most beautiful sight, as the sky fills up with so many bright bold colors. When I could no longer see my quilt, I'd sit back and look at the stars. Utah is quite possibly my favorite state.
Speaking of the night sky, I am half way through my scrappy star quilt. My inspiration came from a pattern from Missouri Star Quilt Co, called 4 patch stars. I am thrilled with the way it is turning out. However, I wish I had some extra fabric to make the sashing around the rows, or to make the border bigger. I had to add the top border because I needed the extra blue fabric for the star points. Here is a dark picture from last night. The lighting in my house is quite poor. I love how some stars appear to twinkle. Only 3 more rows to go!

This picture is an accurate color of the quilt, taken during the daytime with the quilt inspector. I chose Kona Nightfall as the background and borders.
This is my current set up. Oh, dear! I am dreading cleaning up this mess. That little ironing board, is what I have been using to press the rows open, which explains some of the bubbling of the fabric. Now that I pressed open all the HST , I will be putting that ironing board away, and using the big one next to my sewing machine, and repressing the current quilt.
