After cutting a majority of my half hexi braids, I mustered the courage to see them together. I tend to get cold feet when I am designing anything on my own. I have this picture in my head of what I want the finished product to look like, but I am always way off. I took a couple deep breaths, laid out the pieces and thought,"Not too shabby." I started seeing the trapezoids together, and the more I sewed, the more I loved it. Not to mention, so easy to sew. I started thinking of making a chevron quilt using the braid technique. The pieces were going together effortlessly. I got my first border (almost) complete, and I placed it next to my quilt to check the size. Dun...Dun....DUN!!!!
It worked. The braid was definitely meant to be, and it darkens the quilt, which I wanted.
I'm experiencing some sewing errors, and quit for the moment. I had to rip out the last 3 trapezoids, because I didn't have my fabrics lined up. The third I completely missed 1 fabric. It could be this lingering headache I have had today, or graving pulling the heavy strip set downward as I see, or both!
